James B. Dietz, Esq.
Attorney James B. Dietz (aka Jamie) is a life long Mahoning Valley resident, graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration (Finance Major), and then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in all courts in the state of Ohio, the Federal District Court For The Northern District, and in the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Attorney Dietz has been certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. In addition to these specialized areas, Jamie limits his practice to corporate, business, real estate, and transactional law.
Jamie’s relationship with Friedman & Rummell Co., L.P.A. began when he served as an intern after his first year of law school in the summer of 1989. After becoming licensed to practice law in 1991, he joined the firm as an associate. He is now a principal with the firm and acts as its Managing Partner. He practices from both of the firm’s downtown Youngstown and Canfield offices.
His professional affiliations include the Ohio State Bar Association, the Mahoning County Bar Association, and the Mahoning-Shenango Valley Estate Planning Council. He also serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Mahoning County Bar Association, the Mahoning County Bar Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County, Inc., Gateways To Better Living, Inc., and the Mahoning-Shenango Valley Estate Planning Council. He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of estate planning and probate topics, and has instructed the Estate Planning course at Youngstown State University in the graduate accounting program.
Jamie and his wife, Denise, a physical therapist, reside in Canfield, Ohio with their two children, James, Jr., and Luke.
